upcycling with cyanotypes [saturday, july 25th]

€60.00

bring that old tshirt, tote bag, or medium-sized material item to upcycle with cyanotype ink (natural fiber items recommended, but not required)! on the day, I’ll walk you through the process of inking, exposing, and drying your item(s), and you walk away with a fresh new take on an item you would have otherwise thrown away. this workshop happens rain or shine! if it rains, we work inside my studio with the uv box, which acts as our “sunlight” for the day. More detailed information for workshop and travel will be emailed to you a week before workshop date! If you sign up within the week, you should receive the email the same day you sign up.

time + location: 11-16:00 (Lunch break from 13-14:00), broedplaats baggerbeest (rudi van dantzigstraat 1 t, m 15, 1095PK, Amsterdam)

provided:

-cyanotype ink for fabric (jacquard solar fast, in blue. this is a specialty cyanotype ink specifically designed for fabric, so is washable and fades less than traditional cyanotype ink)

-cardboard bases for items, and glass sheets for keeping exposing items in place

-some bits and bobs for exposing (usually these are little things like flowers, bits of scrap lace, jewelry, etc)

-basic snacks (chips, nuts, cookies, coffee + tea)

what you should bring:

-1 or 2 (2 is the max!) items to upcycle

-extra bits and bobs for exposing! I provide some, but if you have something specific in mind, definitely bring it!

-lunch (we break between 13-14:00! I have a microwave and kettle if you want to bring your own, and there are also a couple of local cafes whose names I’ll give out at the beginning of the workshop)

-a good attitude and a mind for experimentation!
